Jools Holland and his
Rhythm & Blues Orchestra featuring GILSON LAVIS, special guest
vocalist MARC ALMOND and guest vocalists RUBY TURNER & LOUISE
MARSHALL will be performing at Westonbirt - The National
Arboretum on Friday 18 July 2008. Jools Holland & his Rhythm &
Blues Orchestra have become established as one of the most
prolific touring acts in the UK, creating their own unique big
band sound playing a mix of boogie-woogie, swing, jazz and R&B.
They now play an average of 100 live shows a year, touring
Britain and the world to audiences in excess of 500,000. This
autumn has been a particularly busy time for the music maestro
with the publication of his autobiography, ’Barefaced Lies and
Boogie-Woogie Boasts’ and top 10 chart success with his latest
album ’Best of Friends’. If previous shows are anything to go
by, tickets will sell out weeks in advance.

Normandy
10th September 2007.
The band travelled to Normandy to play at the joint birthday party of Clarissa Pilkington and her daughter Grace. The party was in the old barn adjacent to their house, providing an ideal backdrop for the music.
This was the first outing for the new line-up of the band with new members Andy
'Riff' Pett (guitar) Top Right, Donny Darko (bass) Neil 'Flash'
Etheridge (guitar) Bottom Right, Emma Kemp and Tiggy York (vocals) Bottom Left.
